A convex probe is a staple in critical care, and the C5B delivers with its 3.2/5.0 MHz frequency and 90-305mm depth—perfect for abdominal and thoracic ultrasound. It can identify free fluid in the abdomen or pleural effusions, though without Doppler, it’s limited to structural assessment rather than flow dynamics (e.g., no IVC measurement). At 250g with a 3-hour battery, it’s a reliable bedside tool for rapid evaluations in the ICU.
For FAST exams or abdominal trauma, the C5B’s 90-305mm depth covers deep structures effectively—think liver, spleen, or peritoneal fluid. Without Doppler, you’ll miss flow-based insights, but its 250g wireless design keeps it ED-ready—quick imaging for urgent cases. The 3-hour battery ensures it lasts through busy shifts.
Portable at 250g, the C5B’s convex probe handles abdominal assessments in the field—trauma or acute pain scenarios. Without Doppler, it’s focused on structural imaging, but the 3-hour battery and WiFi connectivity make it a solid choice for pre-hospital use—deep imaging on the move.
The C5B convex probe (3.2/5.0 MHz, 90-305 mm, 60°) is the go-to for abdominal imaging: liver, kidneys and gut. It carries B-mode and power Doppler only, so color and pulsed-wave flow work needs the C5SH. At 200 g with a 3-hour battery it is a wireless essential for digestive cases.
For abdominal checks or lung eval, the C5B’s convex probe covers inpatient rounds—think organ sizing or effusions. Without Doppler, vascular detail is off the table, but its 3-hour wireless battery makes it a bedside champ—practical for daily use in wards or clinics.
The C5B’s 90-305mm depth is ideal for kidney imaging—think hydronephrosis or stones. The 3.2/5.0 MHz frequency provides good penetration for renal assessment, though the absence of Doppler means no renal flow analysis. At 250g, it’s a nephrology bedside essential—deep reach with portability.
For transabdominal fetal imaging, the C5B’s 90-305mm depth and gestational measurements (CRL, BPD, etc.) are perfect—think later trimesters. Without Doppler, you can’t assess flow, but its wireless design and 3-hour battery make it a labor-ward staple—OB imaging with endurance.
The C5B’s convex probe handles basic abdominal exams—liver, kidneys—with a 90-305mm depth for deeper structures. No Doppler limits its scope, but at 250g with wireless support, it’s a clinic all-rounder—simple and effective for routine checks.
For abdominal exams off-grid, the C5B’s 90-305mm depth and wireless design deliver. Without Doppler, it’s structural imaging only, but the 3-hour battery and WiFi keep it functional in remote settings—comprehensive care wherever you are.
The C5B handles bladder and kidneys with its convex probe—90-305mm depth for deep views. It’s great for structural assessment (e.g., bladder volume), though no Doppler means no renal or prostatic flow. Puncture assist guides biopsies, and its 250g wireless build fits urology needs—deep and versatile.

We strive to stand out from the rest, and this tool is another reason we do!

NASA
Trusted by NASA.Selected for testing in preparation for the Artemis lunar program.
Every other way medicine looks inside the body needs a room — a tube, a gantry, a superconducting magnet. Ultrasound needs a probe and a screen. For twenty years, ultrasound has been how spaceflight looks inside the human body — and as humanity returns to the Moon, the instrument light enough to go is a handheld probe.
Suresult handheld probes have been selected by NASA and are undergoing testing in preparation for the Artemis lunar program. Documentation available for review on request.
Buyers who look at the C5B usually look at the rest of the Suresult convex line, and at the two multi-format probes that keep the same convex depth while adding a second array — plus the one other B-Mode-and-Power-Doppler probe in the line, which is linear rather than convex. Frequency and depth below are the published attributes for each model; the difference that decides most of these purchases is the mode list, not the geometry.

Convex
Convex 3.2/5.0 MHz
Convex: 90/160/220/305 mm
$1,700
The lowest-cost way into full convex depth. B-Mode and Power Doppler only, 80 elements, 16 channels — grayscale abdominal, obstetric and bladder work.
The same 3.2/5.0 MHz convex band at 60°, with Color Doppler, Pulsed Wave Doppler and M-Mode, on 192 elements and 64 channels. The upgrade to take if flow matters.
C5SH-Pro
Convex
Convex 3.2/5.0 MHz
Convex: 90-300 mm
$4,500
256 elements on 64 channels with the full five-mode list — the highest element count in the convex line.
One device on the same 90/160/220/305 mm convex ladder, adding a linear format for superficial work and a phased format for cardiac windows, with the full five-mode list.
The other B-Mode and Power Doppler probe in the line, but linear and superficial — vascular access and soft tissue, not deep abdomen.
Where this probe is the wrong tool. The C5B publishes B-Mode and Power Doppler only — no Color Doppler, no Pulsed Wave Doppler and no M-Mode — so if you need flow direction, velocity or an M-Mode trace on the same convex geometry, take the C5SH (28591) instead.

Where the C5B wins: On the narrow question of a deep abdominal grayscale image, the C5B is the cheaper answer by a wide margin, and its deepest preset at 305 mm goes past the 30 cm the iQ3 publishes and past the 24 cm of the Vscan Air SL sector. Nothing recurring follows the purchase: the apps are free on iOS, Android and Windows, updates are free for the life of the device, and DICOM export writes to local storage with no cloud tier to buy. Against the iQ3 specifically there is also no cable — the C5B raises its own Wi-Fi network, so the tablet can sit on a trolley while the probe is at the bedside, and 4200 mAh gives 3 hours of continuous scanning. Suresult ships within 24 hours worldwide with customs and duties covered, and holds FDA, ISO, MDR/CE, TGA and ANVISA records available for review.
Where a rival wins: Both rivals publish far more range, and the difference is not close. The iQ3's single chip runs 1-12 MHz with presets from 4 cm — a band and a near field the C5B does not have, since its only frequencies are 3.2 and 5.0 MHz and its shallowest preset is 90 mm. The Vscan Air SL carries a second array, linear 3-12 MHz to 8 cm, alongside a sector array to 24 cm, and it carries no required subscription either, so against GE recurring cost is not a point of difference at all. The mode list is the other thing to weigh: the C5B publishes B-Mode and Power Doppler only, so Power Doppler will show that flow is present but not its direction or velocity. If you need Color or Pulsed Wave Doppler, do not choose the C5B on price — inside the Suresult line you want the C5SH.
C5B questions, answered
How deep does the C5B actually scan?
It has four depth presets — 90, 160, 220 and 305 mm — on a convex array running 3.2 and 5.0 MHz with a 60° sector. The 305 mm preset is there for deep structures; most routine abdominal and obstetric work sits at 160 or 220 mm, and 90 mm suits bladder and near-field views. Lower frequency buys that depth, which is why the C5B is a convex probe and not a general-purpose one.
What can I image with it?
Grayscale work at convex depth. Abdominal survey — liver, gallbladder, kidneys, aorta, spleen, bladder — free fluid in the flanks and pelvis, and obstetric assessment including fetal lie, presentation, placental position, amniotic fluid and biometry. Power Doppler adds a flow-presence overlay: it shows that flow is there, not which way it is going or how fast.
Does it have Color Doppler, Pulsed Wave Doppler or M-Mode?
No. The C5B publishes two imaging modes: B-Mode and Power Doppler. There is no Color Doppler, no Pulsed Wave Doppler and no M-Mode, so it cannot give flow direction, a velocity spectrum, a resistive index, or a timing trace. If any of those are part of your routine, the C5SH (28591) has the same 3.2/5.0 MHz convex band at 60° with all five modes, and the C5SH-Pro (29988) carries 256 elements.
What do 80 elements and 16 channels mean for the image?
They are the lowest counts in the Suresult convex line. More elements on more channels means higher line density: the C5SH runs 192 elements on 64 channels and the C5SH-Pro 256 elements on 64 channels. The C5B is built to answer clear structural questions — is the bladder full, is there free fluid, where is the placenta.
What does it connect to, and is there a subscription?
Free apps for iOS, Android and Windows, and no subscription of any kind. Software updates are free for the life of the device. The probe raises its own Wi-Fi network, so it works with no router and no clinic network at all, and there is no cable to the tablet. Studies export by DICOM to local storage.
Can I use it for needle guidance?
Suresult sells a Biopsy Needle Guide for Convex Probes as a separate item at $499. It is listed by probe family rather than by model, so confirm the fit against a C5B with Suresult before ordering. Bear in mind what you will see while you work: B-Mode and Power Doppler only, at 3.2/5.0 MHz, with 90 mm as the shallowest preset. Shallow, small-target work belongs on a linear probe, not on this one.
How long does a battery charge last, and how heavy is the probe?
The built-in lithium battery is 4200 mAh and gives 3 hours of continuous scanning. The probe weighs 200 g, so a full outreach clinic session is realistic on one charge with the probe held one-handed.
How is it shipped, and who pays customs and duties?
Orders dispatch within 24 hours, with worldwide delivery. Customs and duties are covered by Suresult, so the price you pay is the price of getting the probe onto your desk — no separate import bill on arrival. FDA, ISO, MDR/CE, TGA and ANVISA records are available for review before you order.
What if it turns out not to suit my clinic?
There is a 30-day worry-free trial, so you can scan real patients with it and return it if the two-mode image is not enough for your case mix — which is the honest risk with this probe, and the reason the trial exists. Cover is a 2-year warranty, extendable to three years for $195 or five years for $597.
