For regional anesthesia, the CD2’s linear probe excels at superficial nerve blocks and vascular access, with puncture assist keeping needle placement on point. The phased probe (90-190mm) adds depth for spinal or deeper nerve imaging—think broader applications in the OR. Doppler and real-time B-Mode boost safety and confidence.
The CD2’s phased array probe (2.2/3.6MHz, 90-190mm, 80° angle) is tailored for bedside echocardiography, delivering clear views of cardiac chambers and valves. With M-Mode, PW Doppler, and measurements like ejection fraction (EF) and stroke volume (SV), it’s perfect for quick cardiac assessments. The linear probe (7.5/10MHz, up to 100mm) adds vascular access capability—think of it as a two-in-one for cardiologists on the move.
In the ICU, the CD2’s got you covered. The phased probe handles cardiac and lung imaging—essential for hemodynamic monitoring or spotting pleural effusions—while the linear probe nails line placements and DVT surveillance with its high-res imaging and puncture assist. Fast B-Mode, Color Doppler, and PW Doppler give you rapid, actionable insights. At 150g with a 1.5-hour battery, it’s a lightweight powerhouse for critical moments.
The CD2’s dual-probe design is an ED dream: phased for rapid cardiac and lung evaluations (think tamponade or pneumothorax), and linear for vascular access or soft tissue checks in trauma cases. Puncture guides and Doppler ensure precision under pressure, while its wireless, 150g build makes it easy to toss in a pocket and go. Quick imaging modes keep you ahead in chaotic situations.
For pre-hospital care, the CD2’s portability shines. The phased probe tackles cardiac and lung assessments—crucial for triaging chest pain or respiratory distress—while the linear probe handles vascular access in the field. With WiFi/cable connectivity and a 1.5-hour battery, it’s rugged enough for ambulance use. Doppler and puncture assist make it a reliable companion when seconds count.
The linear probe’s high frequency (7.5/10MHz, up to 100mm) offers detailed thyroid imaging—great for nodules or goiters—while Doppler assesses vascularity. The phased probe can handle deeper glandular checks if needed. Portable and wireless, it’s a clinic-friendly tool for endocrine workups.
The linear probe’s 7.5/10MHz frequency and 100mm depth deliver crisp imaging of tendons, ligaments, and muscles—ideal for guiding injections or assessing superficial injuries. Puncture assist ensures accuracy, though it’s not a full MSK suite. Paired with the phased probe for deeper joint views, it’s a solid pick for outpatient MSK work.
The linear probe makes CD2 suitable for pain specialists performing nerve blocks or joint injections (similar to anesthesiology). CD2’s high-frequency linear is ideal for guiding needles near nerves or soft tissue targets in pain management procedures.
With the phased probe (90-190mm), the CD2’s perfect for lung imaging—spot pleural effusions or consolidations fast. PW Doppler adds flow data for pulmonary vessels, and its 150g wireless design makes it a breeze for bedside respiratory assessments. Not a full pulm suite, but it’s got the essentials.
Rheumatologists can use the 10 MHz linear to visualize joint effusions or guide injections (e.g. in knees, shoulders).
CD2’s linear probe suffices for visualizing tendon tears or muscle hematomas, making it applicable to sports medicine.
The linear probe (7.5/10MHz, up to 100mm) is your go-to for vein visualization, offering high-res imaging and puncture guides for spot-on catheter placement. Doppler confirms flow and patency, while the phased probe can double-check cardiac status if needed. At 150g, it’s light enough to carry all shift—precision meets practicality.

Strong fit
Cardiology and cardiac-leaning point of care
The phased array runs 2.2/3.6 MHz — the lowest frequency pair Suresult publishes, and the one that carries furthest through the chest wall.
Phased2.2/3.6 MHz across an 80° sector, 90 to 190 mm — the sector shape that fits between ribs.
Density192 elements and 64 channels — twice the channel count of the D3 family, drawing denser lines per frame.
ModesB-Mode, Color Doppler, M-Mode, Power Doppler and Pulsed Wave Doppler, with measurements in B, B+M and B+PW — the combination cardiac work needs.
Body150 g, charged over USB or wirelessly, on its own Wi-Fi network.

Vascular access, lines and superficial work
The second head is a full linear array, not an afterthought.
Linear7.5/10 MHz reaching 100 mm across a 25 mm footprint for vessels, lines and soft tissue.
GuidancePublished puncture assist — Flip, Grid, and in-plane and out-of-plane needle guides.
FlowColor Doppler and Power Doppler included at no cost, with PW spectra for velocity.
WorkflowImages export as JPEG, MP4, PNG or DICOM and store locally — no cloud fee.
Partial fit
General abdominal, obstetric and gynecologic lists
The CD2 has no convex head, and that decides several exams.
No convexGeneral abdominal and obstetric imaging is convex work. The D3Pro and D3L carry convex, linear and phased on one body.
DepthThe phased array stops at 190 mm rather than the 305 mm the D3 family reaches.
ScopeNo endocavity head either — transvaginal and trans-rectal exams belong to the T8.
NASA

Every other way medicine looks inside the body needs a room — a tube, a gantry, a superconducting magnet. Ultrasound needs a probe and a screen. For twenty years, ultrasound has been how spaceflight looks inside the human body — and as humanity returns to the Moon, the instrument light enough to go is a handheld probe.
Suresult handheld probes have been selected by NASA and are undergoing testing in preparation for the Artemis lunar program. Documentation available for review on request.
Marketing renders prove nothing. Below is what the CD2’s dual-head hardware actually puts on your phone or tablet — B-mode, M-mode, Color Doppler, Power Doppler and Pulsed Wave Doppler, each shown as a reference still with a cine loop you start yourself.
A time-motion trace for reviewing movement along a selected line.
Color Doppler
Directional color flow information over the grayscale image.
Power Doppler
Flow-signal strength displayed as a sensitive color intensity map.
Pulsed Wave Doppler
A sample gate and spectral trace for reviewing flow over time.

CD2 questions, answered
How deep does the CD2 scan, and at what frequency?
The phased array runs 2.2/3.6 MHz across an 80° sector from 90 to 190 mm — the lowest frequency pair Suresult publishes, which is what carries through the chest wall. The linear array runs 7.5/10 MHz over a 25 mm footprint, stepping 20, 40, 60 and 100 mm.
Why is the phased frequency lower than on the D3 family?
Because it is built for the cardiac window. Lower frequency penetrates further for the same power, which is what a sector view between ribs needs; the D3 family runs its phased format at 3.2/5.0 MHz, which favours resolution over penetration. The trade is deliberate, and it is why the CD2 pairs that array with 192 elements and 64 channels — twice the channel count of the D3 family.
What can the CD2 not do?
It has no convex head, so general abdominal and obstetric imaging — which is convex work — is outside its range; the D3Pro and D3L carry convex, linear and phased on one body. Its phased array also stops at 190 mm rather than the 305 mm the D3 family reaches. And there is no endocavity head, so transvaginal and trans-rectal exams belong to the T8.
Is there a subscription, or a fee for software updates?
No, to both. There is no subscription of any kind on the CD2, and software updates are free for the life of the probe. $2,697 at checkout is the whole cost of the imaging — where a Clarius PAL HD3 pairs the same two formats at $5,395 and puts PW Doppler, DICOM and cloud storage inside a membership costing $695 a year or $2,500 once.
Can I use it for needle guidance?
The CD2 publishes on-screen puncture-assist functions — Flip, Grid, and an In-Plane & Out-Plane Puncture Guide — normally used on the linear format, which images 20 to 100 mm. Suresult also sells hardware needle guides separately; confirm the fit against a CD2 before ordering.
What do I need to run it, and does it need clinic Wi-Fi?
A phone, tablet or Windows laptop, with free apps for iOS, Android and Windows. The CD2 creates its own Wi-Fi network (802.11n dual-band) and also accepts a cable when a device will not join. Images export as JPEG, MP4, PNG or DICOM and store locally.

Where this scanner is the wrong tool. The CD2 carries no convex format, so general abdominal and obstetric imaging — convex work — sits outside its range; the D3Pro and D3L cover that. Its linear side runs 7.5/10 MHz, so for tendon, nerve and small-parts detail take the L20 (16/20 MHz) or the L24 (18/24 MHz). There is no endocavity head either.
The 30-day decision
Put the CD2 to work in your clinic for 30 days
The CD2 dispatches within 24 hours and arrives with customs and duties already covered. The 30-day worry-free trial starts when it does, so the decision that matters gets made with the scanner in your hand and your own patients on the screen rather than from a spec sheet. Two years of warranty are included and can be extended. If you are still weighing it against the other probes in the table above, that comparison is the honest version — the differences are element count, channel count, scanning time and format, not marketing. Ask before ordering rather than after.
