Interscalene brachial plexus block
The roots between the scalenes: shoulder and upper-arm surgery. Superficial at 1–3 cm, a high-frequency linear view.

- Higher success, faster onset.
A 2009 British Journal of Anaesthesia meta-analysis found that ultrasound guidance cut block failure by more than half versus nerve stimulation (risk ratio 0.41). Onset was 29% faster and blocks lasted 25% longer.
